Vessel Safety Check (VSC)

A major component of a fun filled outing is a boat which has all the necessary equipment operating
properly. A free vessel safety check (VSC) is the answer and our members will be happy to
perform the check.  The VSC Program helps to achieve voluntary compliance with federal and state recreational boating safety laws, particularly with regard to the carriage of safety equipment while raising boater awareness about safety and environmental issues through voluntary contact by a Vessel Examiner (VE).

Lackawanna Sail & Power Squadron has a number of vessel examiners who can perform vessel safety check on your boat.  The table below lists our examiners and the areas in which they perform vessel safety checks.  Should you have any questions, please contact our Vessel Safety Check Chairman at vsc@lackawanna.org or 973-537-7902.

Can't find anyone in your area?  Then try the national vessel safety check examiner's database at http://www.safetyseal.net/getvsc/.
